In our administration building, we are switching the heat supply from natural gas to electric energy by using heat pumps. The heat pumps will then be operated exclusively with green electricity, so that a direct CO2 saving is associated with this. For this purpose, the building’s electricity connection will be extended and all rooms will be equipped with surface heating with activatable ceiling elements. With this new technology, the rooms are heated on cold days and cooled in summer thus generating savings of about 50 tonnes of CO2 annually. .
We are taking the path to green steel production: by 2040, we want to produce steel in a climate-neutral way and be a CO2-neutral company.
