Steel that carries energy efficiently.
Energy is one of the most important factors in steel production – and at the same time a central field of action for greater sustainability. Since the introduction of our certified energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 in 2011, we have consistently focused on efficiency, transparency and resource conservation.
Our energy policy commits us to continuously analyze and improve energy consumption in all areas – not only in terms of economic efficiency, but also as a contribution to climate protection and responsibility towards future generations.
Energy efficiency with a system
The introduction of DIN EN ISO 50001 was a milestone for our energy management. Since then, we have been analyzing, optimizing and documenting all energy-related processes – from production to infrastructure.
Our energy policy is based on:
- Resource conservation and responsible use of energy
- Long-term efficiency increase through targeted measures
- Transparent documentation and continuous improvement
Noticeable improvements in practice
We are consistently implementing our goals – with investments and technical optimizations:
- At the electric arc furnace: Improved efficiency and controlled energy flows
- At the continuous casting plant: Energy savings through modern control technology
- In the rolling mill: New drive technology reduces energy consumption with consistently high performance
These and other measures show how we are gradually reducing our ecological footprint – without compromising on quality or productivity.
